Why we do what we do (and love it)

At Mini Professors we believe that science is for everyone. Our purpose is to spark curiosity and inspire children to explore, question and discover the world around them. Science is all about wonder and discovery and children are natural scientists from the moment they begin to play and explore. We are here to nurture that spark, to show children that science is fun and exciting, and to give them the confidence to keep asking questions.

What we set out to do

We set out to make science accessible, enjoyable and meaningful for children from as young as two years old right through to twelve. We know that the early years are the best time to encourage curiosity and build confidence, and that older children thrive when given the chance to apply their ideas and test out their own theories.

Our classes are carefully designed to introduce real scientific concepts in a way that is fun, hands on and age appropriate. Every session is built around experiments, stories, videos and songs so that children can learn through play, discovery and repetition. They leave with new knowledge and the joy of being able to share what they have learnt with their families.

Where you can find us

Mini Professors is more than just a weekly class. We run a wide range of activities to reach children in different settings and at different ages.

  • Clubs for younger children introduce science through gentle, playful exploration that is perfect for the early years.

  • After school clubs for older children offer more in-depth investigations where children can try out experiments, problem solve and work as a team.

  • Holiday camps and workshops give children the chance to immerse themselves in science, with longer sessions packed full of activities, projects and fun.

  • Science parties bring a unique twist to birthdays, making the celebration one to remember with exciting experiments, laughter and plenty of discoveries.

Why we do it

We want to break down the idea that science is only for certain people or that it belongs in a classroom or laboratory. Science is everywhere and belongs to all of us. By making it accessible from an early age we can build confidence, develop skills in communication and teamwork and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Science also builds resilience and critical thinking. When children see that an experiment does not always work the first time, they learn that mistakes are part of discovery. When they work together to solve a problem, they gain important social and emotional skills. These lessons stay with them long after the class is over.

Our bigger picture

Our purpose is simple. We want to give children the tools to explore, to encourage them to be curious, and to celebrate their discoveries. By doing this we help them to grow not only in knowledge but also in confidence, resilience and creativity.

Whether in a class, a club, a workshop, a camp or a party, every Mini Professors session is designed to inspire. We want every child who joins us to feel like a scientist, to believe in their ability to ask questions and to know that learning can always be fun.

At Mini Professors we are building more than a love of science. We are building confidence, curiosity and a sense of wonder that children can carry with them for life.
